Agree completely. I was chairman of a newspaper reporters' union for awhile, and termination defense was challenging because such firings rarely came out of the blue. As you said so well, we don't know what else was going on between Halper and The Hill (if anything) so we don't know if this firing was a surprise or the result of a long-simmering feud.
