Part of the reason is that Q2 last year was incredibly weak.

The NBS noted that there are about 6 million unemployed youths. This is a small part of the overall labour force of some 450 million. That is why the unemployment rate tracks core workers and not youths.

By the way, a weak exchange rate is typically positive for growth because it makes exports cheaper and imports more expensive.
