Most of the world thought Americans had completely lost their minds electing Trump as president.

China is BOTH a developing and developed country. Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing can compare to Los Angeles, New York City and Washington DC, but the interior countryside still has a long way to go before it becomes developed. One billionaire Chinese entrepreneur explained it to me this way: "The Chinese domestic market has all the features of the North American, Japanese, European, South American and African markets all rolled into one market." I tend to agree with this view; it helps to explain why Chinese entrepreneurs have adapted so much better than anyone else in all kinds of different markets.

Xi had a plan to become the leader of China from a very early age; he followed this plan and the plan worked. He has said that he believes that while there are bumps in the road, the global situation is largely developing in China's favor, and against its western opponents.

For him, the CAI issue is likely a bump in the road. After all, he has no term limit.
