The West does not have a good record on confronting genocide. Examples:

1. Khmer Rouge in Cambodia 2. Former Yugoslavia 3. Rwanda genocide 4. ISIS and other groups' attacks on Yazidis and other minorities in Iraq, Syria

I don't see the West doing anything different, especially when one considers that China has nukes.
