Many others have already commented on the question of how many and which social groups are more or less supportive of Zero Covid (and i can largely agree). But I guess positive or negative attitudes towards ZC are less relevant than how ZC actually impacts people's lifes and how people adjust their behavior to it: people hardly travel, hardly spend on tourism, cut down on expensive entertainment, etc. Social live and social interaction is significant slowed down due to the (partially intentionally) unpredictable character of lockdown policies. People have not only become more risk averse (and seeking safe haven employment in the government or state sector) but also interact less. Relationships and family planning decisions are also slowed down, child birth delayed etc. Yet other areas might be changes to work culture. When people become more risk averse, they challenge existing work place culture less. At my department where I'm the only foreigner, hierarchical workplace culture seems to be frozen in, I can't see any progress over the years (and this stagnant hierarchical work culture is a major hurdle to increasing productivity!). One can argue that many of these aspects of stagnation or slowed down social development, live and modernization are not only caused by ZC but many other factors too. Sure, they are an interplay with lots of other factors. But ZC and the way it forces people to adjust their behavior certainly adds significantly to this stagnation or freezing of the status quo. So, whether or not certain social groups love or hate ZC or XJP, what really matters are the changes to their collective behavior over time.
