For sure macro-wise we always need to maintain perspective. At the present moment, however, it is the CCP that issued a series of unprecedented demands to Australia, not the other way around (and unprecedented is just a factual statement not an exaggeration here--it's not like Australia demanded Beijing allow Guangdong province to sign agreements with Australia against Beijing's policy, or demanded that Chinese media stop criticizing Australia etc).
