Shall I explain what the "true left" means to me? We are the ones still trying to practice our principles, like ending wars and having a decent distribution of the wealth that we all create, unlike the Congressional "progressives," who abandoned theirs (if they ever truly had any) and capitulated to the wealth and power they encountered in the halls of Congress. Moreover, we still believe in being "liberal" as the dictionary defines it, and we oppose the neoliberals, who believe in austerity (starvation wages and support) for the people while orchestrating the biggest upward transfer of wealth in history. I've been on the far left since 1968 and I'm still there. Does this clear it up for you?
