Given TSMC's place in chips for western defence contractors, the US would be facing a use it, or lose it challenge due to a sudden lack of crucial spare parts degrading capability over time. I suspect that US political leadership would errr on the slide of pacifism, especially after the long military campaigns in the Middle East. Military people might not like the threat, but they also won't overthrow the government. Game over.
