Should the systems respect each other? It seems tolerance of commercial and government snooping suits the powerful but not the user base - who may benefit from a critical debate. As for which is worse, Proctor & Gamble, American Express and Banana Republic may know more about my surfing habits than I like thanks to Instagram, but they are not likely to imprison me without due process or threaten Chinese relatives. Just my own perspective.
