AI has some advantages at pattern recognition (eg finding a tumor in a scan). It is terrible at nuance because it is a prisoner of algorithms. It follows models that are notoriously unreliable (see Imperial College of London), and sets treatment protocols based on flawed information. It is laughably unable to flexibly modify its algorithms based on individual circumstances. Suggesting that AI practice medicine is about as reasonable as suggesting we put in in charge of nuclear weapons. Both are suicidal notions. As for vents in Covid, AI is controlled by those who program it, so it can be made to produce any lunatic solution its programmer desires.
