AI has great potential and it will definitely be part of our future. It is a reasonable medical tool (like a microscope or MRI machine) but using it to control medical decision-making is unwise. As we know from recent experience the top-down, centralized approach to health care has been a disaster. AI would be the apotheosis of that approach. Well-put that it would be considered a sentient being, but it would also lack any of the redeeming characteristics of sentience such as morality or a conscience. AI would make the sociopaths at Pfizer and Moderna look like innocent children. A free and uncensored AI would be great, but we see where a free and uncensored Google went. The desire for money and control always wins. The only thing we can do is defend ourselves against the tools of their domination, and AI will be the ultimate whip of the totalitarians.
