I suppose the mass incarceration of Xinjiang's child-rearing-aged men and forced marriages of their wives to Han husbands, or the literal kidnapping and residential education of Tibet's children by Han teachers are also ok because the US/Aus/NZ/Canada did this a century ago?
That said, what's good for the goose is good for the gander, and China is still far too weak to stand apart from the developed world, so if they wish to play this game... let us play. The last 30 years have proved we were content enough to see China's peaceable rise move forward so long as it was peaceable, but our goodwill is exhausted along with that of our Japanese and South Korean allies, and Europe's rapidly becoming so.
