Increasingly, students I once taught in China are now seeking permanent residency abroad, in the States or elsewhere. If they aren't seeking it, their parents desire it for their children (child). This increase corresponds to the related growing reality that the mainland has little to recommend it. The bank/Covid scandal in Henan is another worrisome indicator.
