this talk of chinese modernisation has been rife in ccp material since the congress.

what I find interesting is the contrast between statements that China is not exporting its system and the presentation of an alternative model to the capitalist/western one and the encouragement for developing countries to follow china's social system. but you cannot follow a social system without following a lot more.

10 years ago, if asked, I would have said that the ccp was not intent on exporting its political and social system. now I would say that it is. and as ever, is not pointing out the fact too blatantly.
