I think that barring Chinese students would be a very bad step. that is falling for the trick the ccp likes to pull, conflating china and the chinese people with the ccp, so that an attack on the latter can be labelled racist. we should not be in any way anti-china or anti-chinese, but definitely should be anti a party which practises genocide.

barring those who are studying areas which could benefit the pla or surveillance state would be a good step. preventing impediments launched by the cssa and others on uk universities' freedom of speech and thought would also be a good step.

when it comes to "confronting china in a meaningful way" on hk, I think that you have to specify how. it is easy to type that phrase, rather more difficult to set out specific measures which will have an effect. but I would encourage people to try. it would be useful. but please make them specific and realistic.
