I agree. confidence can be brittle. when confidence sits easy in its political skin it does not need a vast internal repression apparatus, censorship, tight control over education, the fengqiao experience, grid system etc etc. when the insurance policy becomes that expensive, it raises the question of whether the original risk is worth continuing with.
