The dissertation lady wrote a thesis with a social justice smell (ar ar) although someone here on Substack, I forget who, explained that that's pretty much what you have to do to get a thesis approved. If you're not dealing with intersectionality or power differentials or marginalized grievances you can get the okay to write your thesis. So, it's somethign to keep in mind...the problem isn't necessarily the Ph.D. students but the demands put on them to write a silly-ass thesis by the people who decide whether they get their degree or not.
