This is so deeply disturbing. Given the news media's long history of using gender-free language to report situations where boys are being victimized--i.e. writing child/children instead of boy/boys--while using gendered language to report victimization of girls, I'm surprised they even acknowledged the victims are boys. Apparently, the new trend is to claim that reports on the abuse of boys should be "classified" information.
