I just finished this book and think it’s the grimmest book I have ever read. She uses the gimmick of the same character names in each book. At first it’s confusing. I kept waiting for some connection. When you figure out there is no connection, it’s plain annoying. She also repeatedly used the same locations. You think there will be some connection, but nope. And lastly her books end somewhat abruptly without knowing outcome for main characters. Frustrating. And the apocalyptic future of book 3 was just too heavy handed. I loved A Little Life so I expected much more from her. But thanks Tim….kinda fun detour from the headlines.
