What most people call China should be called the People's Republic of China and it does not represent the 2,000 years of Chinese Civilization. What you reference is the Chinese Civilization. I am not saying ancient China invaded other nations. My point is that ancient China couldn't because it was always warring with itself, hence why it didn't occupy the borders that the People's Republic now does. Mao saw a window after WW2 to expand his borders and he did through conquest. I am talking about the People's Republic, a totally modern incarnation with some links to Chinese Civilization. It is not a peaceful nation. Peaceful nations don't conquer their neighbors, they don't commit genocide, or mass internment. A peaceful rise was a wonderfully false bit of propaganda that formally died on the November 15, 2012. It is important to debunk this because it's partially why so many people don't see an attack on Taiwan as likely. How we can still be debating this after Galwan is beyond me.
