it's also possible that they are just getting earlier data than the public and know about leaks or outbreaks long before anyone else gets told. (probably because they happen at labs run by cronies and pals)

can't rule it out, but i'm not sure we can prove it either. (though this sort of deliberate release was a big part of daszak's DARPA grant application. hotwire virus. spread in wild bats. generate immunity. these people have zero judgement. it was pretty much the origin story for a pandemic thriller movie.)
