Steve, I’m genuinely curious what you mean by “most US and Western media and higher education is still pro-China”.

Maybe we have different definitions of what “pro-China” means, cause I don’t see much of what I’d consider “pro-China” in Western media. I see more general ignorance towards and shallow understanding of China from media & higher Ed rather than any consistent “pro” alignment.

Could you give some examples of who/what you feel are “pro-China” in US & Western media & higher Ed? What about “anti”?

Also agree with David that Chinese propaganda has been ineffective in the US - but agree with you that the Chinese propaganda is more integrated in their system than comparable methods in our system, and appear more active (not sure about stronger) globally.
