I'm not making excuses for your friends who treat genocide as a non-issue, but please understand the massive amount of pro-Israel propaganda all North Americans receive regularly. You have seen through it, and good for you. Unfortunately, until North Americans start experiencing challenging and hard events, nothing will change for the most part, and most won't see through the propaganda.. Your friends aren't necessarily evil or without a conscience. They just haven't become aware of the urgency of the Gaza situation. It may help to tell them how you feel.
