The rubber meets the road starting in October. I follow the data in the US extremely closely, and can make a pretty good prediction that the Winter/Fall wave coming up will be 20-50% larger than the one from last year. It will interesting to see what the vaccine mandaters do in response to incontravertible evidence the vaccines failed in their primary stated goal. One thing they <i>will do</i> is start rolling out the vaccine designed for Delta, long after Delta starts to recede and is replaced by the next widespread variant. So, you will have to get 2 doses for the Delta vaccine followed up by its booster next year, then rinse and repeat.

I have written it many times already since this started- the key to ending the panic is to stop testing for the disease in any setting other than a hospital with in-patients. As long as we keep testing in the US at 1-2 million PCR tests/day, we will keep seeing these seasonal waves, and the of the positives 0.1-0.5% of those positives will die of something within a calender year.
