I do find it extremely shocking that he of all people is missing the extraordinarily blatant implementation of everything he’s warned about and that is precisely captured in every book he recommends (Gulag Archipelago, Ordinary Men, Orwell *everything*, etc.). I’ve been giving him a bit of latitude because of what he’s been through personally, but for him to remain in denial is a contradiction of all he has previously stood for.
