What IS new is the societal reach of the woke, cluster b mind virus due to the internet, social media, and smart phones. It is not a coincidence that this mind virus began to "take off" in approximately 2012 (when smart phones became ubiquitous among adolescent youth).

The study doesn't mention smart phones, its just declares 2012 to be the year mental health problems saw a dramatic increase among adolescent youth. You don't have to be a rocket scientist for make the connection to pocket social media devices.
