There is simply no room for epidemiologists or scientists as the terms imply in the west. All are medial and health workers paid by the government (国家医务卫生工作人员)， who are required to serve the people (为人民服务）which literally means being a tool for CCP and subject of the leader (Xi).

I know it's an absurd logic for most people who never lived in that kind of system. The funny thing is that it felt so natural for the majority of people who were brought up in that system.
