Sorry hit the send button by accident!
To continue …… face value. Do I merely accept your word that the info is legit or do I seek out experts who have the qualifications to do so? Also you have concluded that because I am questioning the book’s claims that I am ignorant of recent or current events and then claim you are sorry (really) that I don’t want to believe what you believe. You then accuse me of focusing on one individual when you provided the source for your claim!
I am truly sorry that, through this conversation , someone I previously admired has demonstrated a classic example of confirmation bias and lacks critical thinking skills (as well as the inability to make a good argument). Your doom and gloom hyperbolic accusations and claims, and because you have a platform will serve to add to public distrust of science and medicine.
By the way, searching out critiques/reviews by experts when certain books/articles etc are recommended to me has been very helpful in my life and career. It can help to counter confirmation bias.
As a last point, I may borrow the book from the library but as a 75 year old I’m not sure I have the time nor skills to fact check to the degree that this type of book calls for.
This is the end of this conversation for me.
