The advice Bakari gave to Tim about black girls brought tears to my eyes. I had a similar conversation with my daughter about 25 or so years ago, and she knows that she’s going to have to do the same with her children. Not much has changed! I have a Hispanic, Irish, and Filipino daughter and she was constantly ctiticized and questioned about her looks. The challenges our children deal with because of others’ parents (because they are children who are influenced by their families) are heartbreaking. Please bring Bakari back to the podcast!
