"More Nazi than the Nazis" is Kremlin bullshit. Azov is a real thing, but they're not the ones running anything. The Ukrainian leadership is basically in a "beggars can't be choosers" situation; they're badly outnumbered by the Russian Army, so they can't exactly say no to Nazi volunteers. They need all the manpower they can get.

As for 2014, that was a legitimate grassroots response to the Russian-plant President vetoing a pro-EU bill at the behest of Putin. The West just supported a pre-existing uprising.

Honestly, Oliver Stone's credibility is so bad I'd trust CNN before I'd trust him.
