Amen.

A couple of years ago, a pamphlet came around celebrating the long history of the Victorian order of Nurses (visiting nurses). The pamphlet was comprised of newspaper clippings from years past. One from 1923 caught my attention. It said that nurses in our local area started visiting new mothers. In three years, infant mortality was reduced by 2/3. This was simply from teaching mother's how to clean and feed their babies. No medicines. No vaccines. (We were then a very rural area).

Sanitation and refrigeration is, without a doubt responsible for most of the improvement in average life expectancy stats
