I think Walz was selected as to not have had the least chance of outshining Kamala. And I think Kamala has proven a sad disappointment to Willie Brown because she's absolutely untrainable. These are genuinely mediocre people and I say that generously.

And I think AOC has always had basic smarts opportunistic instincts but she has no real charisma. She came along when Nancy Pelosi was already too old to mold her into a brutal effective successor.

The real powers have always been the think tank boys and girls but they're only effective when the front guy has enough political glamour to put on a good show. Bill Clinton and Obama were perfect for the purpose. But the Democrats have run out of stock.
