I have a question for the experts on this thread. I have no expertise in any health-related field. When I read people I trust (including el gato malo) point out that VE for these vaccines goes below 0%, my first reaction is "HOLY SH*T! ". It seems to me to be a VERY BAD THING that a person's immune system ends up worse off 180 days after the vax than they were before they took it. I feel like it's a portent of very bad health outcomes for vaccinated people down the road.
However, I don't really get a sense of panic about this in the posts that I'm reading, including this one. I'm not getting the "run for the hills" vibe that I'm feeling when I read this article, or most others that discuss this issue. Am I overreacting? Is this reaction very specific to Covid-19, so not something to worry about for other things? I would very much appreciate any insight from people on this stack.
Thanks in advance to anyone for the time. Gato, you're at the top of my list of go-to sources for this info. Thanks for all you do.
