I'm wondering how everyone see's Biden's first 100 days and administration will effect China's recent foreign policy calculations on the US as a failing global leader. Specifically around: 1. The US's highly successful COVID vaccine development and rollout. The US has demonstrably developed the most effective COVID vaccines and is well positioned (as in already working on) adaptations to the COVID variants. This big WIN should confirm US dominance in innovation and supply chain execution to our PRC detractors. 2. The Biden admin is on its way to investing $5-$6 Trillion into the US economy to build infrastructure, redistribute income to alleviate poverty, expand free education and at a point when US economic growth is reported at >6%. This almost sound like a 10 year "plan" for American capitalism with socialist characteristics. It will be hard for Xi and the foreign policy wolves to continue their critique of the US as a failed governance model. I would expect to begin hearing a quieter tone in the next 3 months. 3. Both the "QUAD" group and the group of three (US, Japan and Korea) are building an effective response to XI's global leadership ambitions. It is hard to imagine many leaders in the developed world and few in the developing world are really looking to Xi as the new wave for their future development. Xi has a lot of money to spend, but I think the Chinese will find that won't buy them "Happiness". 4. Biden's initiatives currently have 65% - 70% public approval rating. The GREAT partisan divide in the US is likely to begin narrowing over the next year and less will be made of our destabilizing politics.
