Agreed this was a very good conversation, he's definitely saying the right things about prioritizing outcomes.

The problem is that a lot of the stuff he's pushing will make outcomes worse not better.

Freezing the rent doesn't help supply, it hurts it.

Unions push costs up not down.

In regards to grocery stores, why aren't there grocery stores in some areas? I guarantee it's not because companies don't want to sell groceries and make money to those people in that area.

I bet it's some combination of crime, along with high taxes/regulation that make it unprofitable to sell in those areas.

You address those and you don't need to spend the $60 million, or the $140 million. Let large chains like Walmart come in, and sell dirt cheap groceries in safe neighborhoods, they will be happy to do so and do it WAY more efficiently than the government will.
