Absolutely. In fact, my wife and I were just discussing this very issue. She taught Special Ed for 33 years at 3-4 Lutheran Schools. She retired in 2011. Even way back in 1980, two years in a government school was enough to convince her she couldn’t do that. Over her career she made about 1/3 the money, had worse benefits, and retired with a small pension versus friends who worked in govt schools. But she kept her sanity. And it’s so much worse today than it was in 1980.
