Finding other customers for Australian barley, one of the first to be hit, has been easy: Saudi Arabia. Not even much of a price hit. Same goes for wine, timber, cotton, other stuff. But when it comes to natural gas and iron ore and coal, those Chinese markets are just massive by Australian standards, not so readily substituted, and Chinese furnaces were literally designed around the specifications of Australian steel making coking coal.
