Perhaps the best proof of that is TL;DR -- which stands for Too Long, Didn't Read. When people aren't willing to read more than short paragraphs, they learn nothing. And the other side of that coin is talk to text.
When people just talk into their phones or computers for the message they want to convey, they often don't bother making it clear. That adds to the confusion and might result in long and rambling text that makes even more people reluctant to read it.
I'm getting old and cranky. Take me back to wall phones with long, tangled cords and handwritten notes. I don't like the way this is all going at all.
