same here! the past 2 years have taught me that if someone meets 2 other people, and Person A lies, tricks and cons them into believing something false, while Person B attempts to unravel the lies and explain how they've been tricked and deceived by a malicious actor, 9 out of 10 humans will disbelieve Person B with great vehemence and do anything they can to discredit and destroy them. it's almost as if people don't mind being lied to as long as everyone else they know believes the same lie and as long as they never have to publicly admit being duped. conformity is a hell of a drug!
