I think the point being made is that true unfiltered AI could be of benefit for we the people. If it becomes regulated, it will then become another useless propaganda tool. As for education, an open AI tool would allow the user to have access to much more knowledge then say a public school math teacher would have. The problem becomes as the bad cat so eloquently stated, if the public school system are the ones running the AI, it will be rendered completely useless. I’m not sure where I land on AI, but from what I’ve seen going on in these public school systems, if I was starting over with my kids I’d be very open to homeschooling with the assistance of AI teachers at my fingertips.
