that sounds a bit crazy that you are at the age where an HPV vaccine would be recommended, AND annual mammograms.

HPV vaccines (introduced in 2006) is not recommended across the board for people older than 26. People age 27-45 might want to get one, but it is thought to be less effective once a person is already sexually active, because of the likelihood of prior exposure to HPV. Once the initial series is completed, boosters are NOT indicated, as this vaccine is considered to offer long-term protection.

The first screening mammogram is recommended at age 40, but only regular, "every two years" for women 50 to 75.

If you are being pushed to get an HPV booster after having received the initial series, that is just nuts. As well, if you are being pushed to get annual mammograms (unless you have a prior cancer history that they want to keep on top of for some reason), that is excessive.

This is just the current CDC recommendations. As I think many of us are figuring out, HPV vaccines are very risky and not that effective, and mammograms are not risk-free.

Your instincts of danger are correct: Run!
