That’s a tactic and it may work. I used to say that about gang wars. Let them fight it out because they may end up killing the majority of their gang, which in the end may be better for those who live there. It’s a tough one. The National Guard protecting government buildings is one thing and I agree with the commenter who talked about cordoning off the zones where protestors are located and no one gets in or out. Then let them destroy. Problem is those caught in the neighborhood who are peaceful law abiding citizens. It’s not an easy call to make.
