The law abiding citizens had no say in this, and at any rate, what 'forced' it?
The assault Trump cited? Even in cities with extremely low crime rates, assaults happen every day. If an assault like the one he cited requires the military to occupy a city and police its streets, then we will be 'forced' to occupy every major and minor metropolitan area in the U.S. That is, once again, the rationale for a police state--and those never end well.
