Agree with you and Dr. Y. - even with the core assumption that our governments "are actively trying to harm us". But I disagree that it "all makes sense". To a certain extent logically consistent, perhaps, but not sensible. I can't see how "they", our would-be lords and masters, think they are in some way immune to the effects of the massive damage being wrought; the deliberate destruction of the world economies; and looming concurrent food and energy shortages. The peons who grow their food, fix their plumbing, fuel their private jets, and wipe their collective asses have to be housed, clothed, and fed too.
