Ed Condon’s recap of With Love, Meghan is hilariously and tragically true down to every detail. I just… cringe.

Lenten tension, velvet gloves, and watching ‘with love’

Anyone else thinking of getting off social media (I’m looking at you Instagram)??! The more I think about it, the more I don’t love how it makes me feel, among other things. Writing here has been a breath of fresh air and I’d love to pour all my energy into this space. What has it been like for those who’ve taken the plunge and said goodbye to the gram? Especially if you have a Substack page.

My dad called me this afternoon to tell me that the field between our houses was covered with robins, that it wasn’t just one robin that arrived as a sign of spring but a whole field full.

What he didn’t say was that birds were my mom’s thing. She would have been the one to notice. He did in her stead and made sure to bring them to my notice, too.

The fundamental problem with progressivism — and I say this as someone who was a leftist for my entire life, until maybe five years ago—is that progressives want there to be a different reality than the one that is, and become angered when confronted with reality, and blame whoever is presenting that reality to them for being the perpetrator of whatever unpleasant or imperfect reality presented.

This is the craziest thing I have ever written. Many indicators are coming in that Trump fully intends to invade Greenland and Canada. “Annex” is just a nice word for killing Canadians/Greenlanders and seizing land we do not own for Elon Musk’s technologist dictatorship. It would cause the Armed Forces to mutiny and Civil War in America to start. Take this talk seriously. Read this assessment.

The problem with Social Security isn't "fraud."

The problem with Social Security is that as the rich have gotten richer, more of their income has escaped the cap on the SS payroll tax.

In fact, millionaires stop paying SS taxes today.

We can fix this by scrapping the cap.

You don’t expect a grocery list to break your heart. Until it does.

I was filling shelves in the baking aisle, when I noticed her—an elderly woman clutching a handwritten grocery list that looked like it had been folded and unfolded a hundred times.

She kept glancing at it, then at the shelves, then back at it—like the list itself might change if she stared at it long enough.

I asked if she needed help, and she gave a small, tired smile.

Dear Traditional Catholics, Can You See Me?

The kids are playing some intricate game outside with the neighbors—in the rain—that involves SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER as if someone is being tortured and I keep anxiously running to the window only to see them all cracking up. Never Say Thank You Or Apologize To Donald Trump

Very well said, Brando. I'm sorry that this happened on the anniversary of your grandfather's death. I was so embarrassed and angry that our demented leader disrespected President Zelensky!! Both our dictator and Vance showed no class or manners. Why should President Zelensky show any gratitude to our demented leader who has not helped him with anything? It was President Biden who helped him, not our dictator!!! Calling him out on not wearing a suit was extremely disrespectful!! Elon Hitler never wears a suit!!! Those people who still think that our demented leader is not with Putin are out of their minds and have definitely sold their souls to the Devil, Trump!!! I believe that the Republican members of Congress have probably been threatened by Trump and if they disagree with him, they will never have a future in politics again. They choose their own future over their country!!! Shame on all of them!!! We have to vote them out and also those Democrats who are doing enough for us!!! We the people are who matter, not them!!! Our country comes first!!! Fight, fight, fight to keep our Democracy!!!!
