I work in a retirement home that includes independent living, assisted living and a skilled nursing facility (about 350 residents). We have a medical director and a doctor clinic for general checks but labs and diagnostics are done by outside contractors. Things are a bit back to normal and all outside contractors are allowed back in only if they’re up to date of vax.
We had a registry travel nurse work and she told me she wasn’t boosted and I was about to give her a high five but she explained that she just got her 2nd shot a few months ago and I couldn’t believe it (California is gnarly) but then she explained that she’s from Oklahoma. Anyway, she’s planning to get boosted when the time comes:(
Back to your question….if you’re not up to date on your shots then finding work in healthcare in Commifornia seems impossible. I believe my days as s as nurse are numbered. I’m not sure how long my lawyer will be able to save my job….Commifornia is pushing some insane bills through. It’s utterly terrifying.
