I'm always wary of pushing it, because forgiveness is a hard road, not easily embarked on or travelled. Sometimes you don't get there. Forgiveness keeps its own timeline and is often bestowed, silently, more to save one's own soul than in response to any contrition. We are all going to have a very difficult time dealing with this when it ends.
