It wasn't even just the news, though. This winter my friend was catching up on Grey's Anatomy, and I saw a few scenes during the covid freakout. The show was repeating the government narrative over and over and over and over. Casually throwing out that people who didn't wear a mask were uncaring and continuing the pandemic, casually throwing out that if you didn't stay home you were putting EVERYBODY in danger. I can't imagine this was the only show shoving the narrative with both hands.
