I agree about Book 3 although I found it incredibly depressing! I really liked Charlie and felt sympathy for Charles who I think tried to do what he thought was right. His relationship to his son David was heartbreaking. In fact a lot of Book 3 was heartbreaking(also in Books 1 and 2). There’s so much material in the 3 books to think about. I’ve recounted the story lines to many friends but I don’t think I can advise them to read it. There’s too much misery in the world right now and they and I need a break!
