Human nature being what it is—sin nature—I’m not surprised that you’ve encountered so many people who just want the goodies without the work it takes to achieve them. Unfortunately, the land that you’ve “fought hard over twenty years to retain” isn’t really yours at all. Consider that you pay taxes on it to a government entity (city/county/state), which can revoke your ownership at will for purposes of eminent domain or if you don’t pay your taxes on it. It’s frustrating, to say the least. Still, enjoy and cherish the good times on this earth with your loved ones and your love of God. It’s all we have for the moment but a brief glimpse into what we will have for eternity.
